THE INSTRUCTORS FOR THE PTA PROGRAM ARE VINDICTIVE and SPITEFUL. THE PROGRAM IS FAR TOO INTENSE FOR A 2 YEAR PTA DEGREE. OVER 50% OF CLASS FLUNKS OR QUITS BECAUSE THE INSTRUCTORS MAKE IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANYONE, LET ALONE SOME TRYING TO WORK OR HAVE A FAMILY WHILE GOING TO SCHOOL.IT IS HORRIFYING THAT OVER 50% OF THE PTA STUDENTS AT BAYSTATE FLUNK OR QUIT. TO BAD BECAUSE PHYSICAL THERAPY IS A GREAT FIELD FOR THOSE WHO ENJOY HELPING PEOPLE AND LEARNING.
NO ONE EXPECTS A BRAND NEW GRAD, WHETHER PT OR PTA TO KNOW EVERYTHING WHEN THEY ENTER THE WORK FORCE. AS THEY SAY, THOSE THAT CAN'T DO..TEACH,AND POWERTRIP, AND ENJOY MAKING GROWN ADULTS WHO ARE TRYING THEIR HARDEST TO MAKE A LIFE FOR THEMSELVES AND FAMILY CRUMBLE.
DEAN, I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU SIT IN OR HAVE A "SECRET STUDENT" EVALUATE THEIR "TEACHING" METHODS AND CONTENT. SAD BUT TRUE... IF YOU WANT PTA.. GO ELSEWHERE OR JUST GO ELSEWHERE FOR ANOTHER FIELD. BAYSTATE IS NOT FOR YOU.
what a ripoff

My daughter attended Baystate for 5 weeks 3 of the classes she never even attended. We live close but, my daughter had an injury so after 3 weeks I put her in a dorm (huge expense) She lived there for 2 weeks before her doctor wanted her to take a leave of absence to take care of a medical problem. She took 90 days and was still under a doc. care and unable to return. She had to withdraw from school. I took out outrageous loans to pay for school. The money was released from the loan co. and immediately put toward the 11,800 fee for the dorm. The federal, state and school grants were never touched as she was not in school long enough to be released. Every dime came from loans and baystate refuses to refund any of the money even w/ doc. notes. My daughter will never be able to attend college as I owe 23,000 in loans for 5 fun filled weeks at Baystate College.

I did go there last year and I don't anymore. I hated it haha. There are so many ignorant "gangsta" kids, and blonde morons that think they know everything about fashion and think they will be working for huge fashion companies in 2 years. The people are fake, and their are so few people that dorm there that the drama is insane. It's like going to a smaller high school, with more drama, and you have to live with them. Not to mention the buildings are in s*** condition. They are old, trashy, 5 story buildings with no elevtors. After going there for a year, I learned nothing that I didn't already learn in freshmen year of high school. The teachers aren't very intelligent and half the classes you take are just college students that need to teach in order to get their masters degree so they divide the classes into groups and assign them chapters and have them teach the class while they sit back and do nothing. It's a joke. The only nice thing about BSC is the location. Beautiful part of Boston and the brown stone buildings lining the park are amazing. But I really wouldn't recommend BSC if you are looking to further your education.
TOO EXPENSIVE

I was a fashion design major, from what I experienced the professors are awesome. Now school policies are not. I was forced to withdraw for missing 2 weeks of consecutive classes. Only 2 classes of each course. If its for design, its worth it to get started then off to NYC. But overall, the school is not worth it and highly expensive. Plus, the college is spread out in diff areas of boston some area but diff locations. Sucks for cold weather. Library is terrible. Student activities are less than proper...
DO NOT GO THERE!!!

I was at that school and to be quite honest it sucked. Most of the kids that go to bay state college are from the area and go home on the weekends so a lot of times, since im from new york i was left alone in my dorm. The other downfall was their meal plan was gross. they didnt have a variety of foods to serve and when they had something good it would go quickly and they would get mad if you ordered something specifically. The people werent bad though but all in all I didnt have a great time. most people the second year either get an apartment or leave to go to different schools. I decided not to go back. currently im interning at a magazine and have hopes to go to fit. If i were you i would choose another school.
